Porter & Frye is right off Nicollet Avenue in the Hotel Ivy. It is an elegant modern restaurant in an upscale hotel. It's Midwest roots pleasantly shine through with a talented bar staff as one of its highlights. You can find bartenders blending fresh fruits, homemade syrups, and top shelf spirits into unbeatable cocktails. But those are just to wet your appetite.
Chef Sarah Master (formerly of Barbette) has carefully prepared a menu of perfect upscale American Contemporary Cuisine with MN flare (Hint: Try the Bison Porterhouse or Lamb Burger).
Service is polite and professional and seating is spacious and comfortable. We'd recommend it as a perfect place for a first date; it's a hidden gem off the main drag with daily happy hours and close access to many neighboring places. What more could you ask for?
