Zombie Pub Crawl 2009

Zombify Yourself!

You’re going to want to show up at TEN Waterfront already zombified. Choose a good outfit, tear it up, and get gritty for that zombie effect. We’ll be helping you out, but won’t have time to zombify everyone, so make sure you’re mostly set and have your blood and makeup with you. For all you new zombies, TEN Waterfront will have professional hairstylists and make-up artists on site to assist you at a really low cost. Remember, we will be having a COSTUME CONTEST with prizes at the after party – be creative!

Makeup checklist!

  • Liquid Latex or Elmers Glue
  • Base Makeup (get kit from the store, you?ll want fleshtones, grey, maybe some green or blue)
  • Fake Flesh, Fake Blood, Fake Scabs, and Baby Powder
  • Dirt, sand, or anything to rub down your clothes

How to apply your makeup

Step 1 – put on your zombie clothes so you’re not getting makeup on your Gucci. You’ll want to decide how you died or when you were turned in to a zombie.

Step 2 – apply Fake Flesh, Fake Scabs, or Molding Wax to form wounds and scars. Adhere these using liquid latex - or Fake Scab mix(gelatin and water). Allow to dry.

Step 3 – Apply a base makeup color. Grey works great for zombies that rose from the grave. If you were recently turned into a zombie, use a tone that is similar to your skin color. APPLY MAKEUP IN LAYERS. You’ll want to start with the lighter colors first.

Step 4 – Apply accent colors. Use dark grey or black under your eyes. (or shine a flashlight on your face from above, and shadow the shadows!)

Step 5 – Apply lots and lots of fake blood

Fake Blood Recipe:

1 cup Corn Syrup
20 drops of Red Food Coloring
2 Tablespoons of Chocolate Syrup
3-4 drops dish soap or laundry detergent (optional)

Mix it all together, bring extra for the crawl.

Fake Scabs:

1 part Gelatin
1 part water

Mix in small quantities, and apply to skin within 30 seconds. This will harden to form a decaying flesh texture. Do this before putting makeup on!

Fake Flesh:

2 cups Self-Raising Flour
1 cup Salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups water
2 Tablespoons cooking oil

First boil the water, and add everything but the flour. Then add the flour slowly, over low heat. Cook until it becomes a warm doughy ball. Form this into rotting flesh slabs, and adhere them to your face with liquid latex(ideally), or fake scab mix.
